The 1st International Paleontology Congress of Paraíba will be held on March 21, 22 and 23, 2025. The free event offers a unique opportunity to explore the vast and valuable natural heritage of the Paraíba Sertão, highlighting the important paleontological and archaeological sites in the region. The congress is organized by the Government of Paraíba, through the State Secretariat for Science, Technology, Innovation and Higher Education (Secties), and is part of the research project on Palaeontology and Archaeology in the Rio do Peixe Sedimentary Basin.

During the three-day event, international and national experts will present the latest scientific discoveries, new research approaches and the advances that make the Rio do Peixe Sedimentary Basin one of the greatest centers of interest for global paleontology. The event also has a partnership of the Archaeology and Paleontology Laboratory (Labap) and the Natural History Museum, both from the State University of paraíba (UEPB), as well as teaching and research institutions that have excelled in the areas of paleontology and archaeology.
